Spring Update and Save the Date!

Spring Newsletter 2026

Dear Friends,

Week after week, our participants show us that dance is more than movement. It is vitality, memory, laughter, and community.

We're energized to continue sharing the joy, connection, and healing power of Latin social dance with our communities.

This past term marked an important milestone for FoAT. We successfully completed 18 weekly free classes for older adults, reaching 13 senior centers across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.

We are especially proud of the continued impact of Sandra Antognazzi, who travels to New Haven, creating a welcoming and supportive environment to heal, connect and thrive. Through our AdapTango program, established in 2025, FoAT continues to offer biweekly classes at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. This initiative is part of a clinical trial led by researchers and physicians from Yale University and Ohio State University, supporting breast cancer survivors through movement, connection, and expression. As we prepare to launch our third 8-week cohort, we are inspired by the resilience and courage of all participants.

Our open community offerings are also growing. Mariana Parma continues to lead her welcoming Thursday Salsa classes for the 14 Y members, and on March 22, with Walter Perez, she co-hosted our first monthly Latin Social práctica—a vibrant gathering that brought dancers together to share, learn, and celebrate.

FoAT is also evolving behind the scenes. We are delighted to welcome Anita Lanzi and Jorge Carmona to our Board, with Jorge stepping into the role of Treasurer. Jorge is a beloved member of the Tango community and a Tango teacher and we are thrilled to welcome Anita, who brings her expertise and insights about human relations.
