Susan Ettenheim
Susan joined the Board in June 2022 to focus on development and capacity building. She is honored to support this program that brings Tango and Latin Social Dance to those who might not otherwise be dancing.
Her work as a teacher at HSFI, The High School of Fashion Industries, Software Major, Future Ready, NYC, is about bringing inclusiveness, equity and opportunity to all teens. She is part of the international Turtlestitch.org (digital embroidery) team and is passionate about mixing the digital and analog worlds in teaching and art making. She served as a Board Member for Ping Chong after discovering the work at La Mama and became forever committed to supporting non-profit organizations in the arts.
Susan started to dance as an adult after a bicycle accident. Gail Accardi and Benito Garcia, as coaches, keep her going and growing. She now studies Argentine Tango with Maria Jose Sosa and New York style Mambo at Alvin Ailey Extension under Katherine Jimenez. She has found health, community and many new friends along the way.
