Sandra Antognazzi
Sandra Antognazzi is an Argentine-born dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist with over 25 years of experience specializing in Argentine Tango and Modern Dance. Deeply committed to inclusive, community-based arts education, Sandra has worked extensively with youth, older adults and learners of all abilities in both academic and community settings. Sandra holds a BA in Dance from SUNY Empire State University and is certified in AdapTango (2025), equipping her to adapt tango instruction for older adults and individuals with neurodegenerative and neurotoxic conditions.
Sandra has taught tango and modern dance at institutions including Ramapo College and Bergen Community College, and has led community tango classes for organizations such as Friends of Argentine Tango and Park PAC. Her teaching fosters confidence, creativity, and connection, with a student-centered approach that emphasizes accessibility and collaboration.
As a performer, Sandra has danced with numerous tango productions and modern dance companies, appearing nationally and internationally at venues such as Lincoln Center, Town Hall, and Joyce Soho. She is also the Artistic Director of Fusion Tango, a project dedicated to exploring tango as both a cultural tradition and a living, expressive art form. Through dance, she continues to support lifelong learning, self-expression, and community engagement for older adults.
