As the end of 2024 nears, it's time to look back at our successes and make plans for the future. Friends of Argentine Tango had a wonderful year—gaining recognition through grants and with continuing programs addressing the needs of New York's aging population.
As a small, dance nonprofit, FoAT runs on a very tight budget and we rely on the generosity of our friends and educational grants to fund our free programs and shows. Funds raised to support FoAT go directly into operational costs such as artists remuneration, promotional materials, insurance, administrative personnel, and web maintenance.
Most of our instructors are Latino professional performers. This modest compensation is important because, as we all know, it's very difficult to make a living by dancing in New York City. Donations to FoAT enable our organization to bring high quality dance programs and experienced teaching artists to underserved members of our communities.
FoAT will continue to pursue grants that underwrite our existing and new programs. Most of these grants require a percentage of matching funds that we hope you, as one of The Friends of Argentine Tango, will help us raise.
Let’s toast to a successful 2024 and with our hope for an even better New Year and 2025 with your support.
